lovely to meet you ✹

Hey! 👋

I’m Naomi Crowder.

I am currently a second year at University of California, San Diego studying Cognitive Science with a specialization in Design and Interaction- essentially HCI!

BACKGROUND:
From middle through high school, I owned a small business called Bao Slime which has given me a strong background in entrepreneurship and marketing. I was responsible for every last task that goes into running a business, from product ideation, to marketing, to financial upkeep, and beyond. These skills give a unique lens with which I approach projects and tackle problem statements. As that business was coming to a close, I knew I was not done with my entrepreneurship ventures. I went on to found Moth Library Studios, a ceramic and crochet business, which involved selling at a much smaller scale to my local community at farmers and flea markets. Both of these businesses allowed my creative spirit to flourish while simultaneously giving me invaluable skills to prepare me for my future.

WHAT DRIVES ME?
I grew up in Flagstaff, AZ where I was surrounded by beautiful mountains covered in greenery during the summer and pillowy snow in the winter. The natural world around me has always been my biggest influence—jaw-dropping, self-designed, and untouched by human hands. It’s inspiring how nature, shaped merely by chance, achieves perfection in its own way, evolving over time to adapt and thrive wherever it may be.
I bring this philosophy into my approach to design. Just as the plants, trees, and animals of the earth evolve to meet their own needs, my designs are tailored to the individuals and communities they will serve. I prioritize the user’s experience, focusing on creating solutions that help them flourish in their unique environment.
